Can't recover profile. Need help.

I have two xbox consoles and last night I recovered my gt to one in the living room. now today when I try to recover it back to the other xbox it keeps bringing up an error "Can't recover your profile."

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi there.

Earlier on in the day there was an xbox LIVE service alert up and running, this related to Account problems and users may have had trouble recovering their profiles etc.

Try clearing the update cache on the console you wish to recover the profile on, if you need help follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the "My xbox" slide on the dashboard.
  2. Scroll right, to the last page which is the "System Settings" page.
  3. Select "Memory" from the list of options.
  4. Highlight the hard drive and hit Y on your controller.
  5. Select the option to clear the update cache and to perform maintenance on the memory unit.

After this is complete, restart the console and try recovering your profile.

It is also advised if you're moving your profile a lot that you buy a portable memory stick and put your profile on that. The recovery system is not recommended to be used on a frequent basis.

Same problem all of you are having. I cannot recover my profile. I have 2 Xbox 360's... One in my living room and one in my bedroom. I play in the living room during the day and at night, my bedroom. So this is a daily process. Today I cannot get into either XBox 360. I had been playing last night after I went to bed. What is the deal and how long is this going to be a problem? I know all of my settings are correct bc, as I said, I do this every day. Please give us info.

Thanks to the person who posted above about the service message. I followed those instructions. No joy. Still locked out. Well, this definitely bites.

May have an answer...

1) Go to system settings then go to memory

2) Go under profiles

Does it say corrupted profile?
