cant play online games

I can sign into xbox live, but I can't view friends or recent players or play online games. In the dashboard it says I have xbox live gold.
When I go to join a party it says "Xbox live parties are blocked" and that the settings need to be changed, but when I go to change the settings it says parties are available to everyone.

It appears this issue is coming from your Privacy Settings, now do note that if you are on a child account your access to things will be limited. To access the Privacy Settings you will need to scroll to the right to the "SETTINGS" tab on the dashboard and select "PRIVACY" and check to see what your privacy settings are.

i have an adult account and my privacy settings say that everything is allowed

Can you try changing the party settings to something more restrictive, and then set them to full allowances again, just to see if that sets things straight? Also, do you happen to be part of a family pack?

Try changing your Voice and Text settings to either friends only or blocked under privacy settings and then changing them back to "Everyone" is what I am thinking Mister Fitzer means..

yea im gonna use another credit card first and if that doesnt work then ill call phone support. thanks for all ur help
