cant hook my xbox up to the internet??

hi all,

am new to all this and need some desperate help. i have the older version of the xbox (white 1) and am trying to get onto xbox live. i have bought the network adapter, changed it over for a new 1 to see if that was the problem and still not working. the light just flashes green on the adapter the whole time. have spoken with my internet company and they have told me should be nothing stopping it. on my networks page it is reading my wireless account on there, it has a little lock in the bottom right hand corner and a tick in the top right hand corner, which im told is right. could it be my xbox??any help would be muchly appreciated cheers

To help you determine if it is a problem with either your console or network you should connect the console to your router or modem with an ethernet cable. If you can connect via that then the issue lies with either your wireless settings in the router or with the wireless adapter you are using.
