Can't get game audio on my headset

I've purchased a turtle Beach X11 Headset to use on my XBOX 360 and want to use it for Game audio and mic audio.

I currently connect my console to the tv via HDMI and plug it in as described in the headset instructions.

I can hear the Mic audio but can't seem to get the in game audio to play through the headset as it still plays through the TV.

I've plugged in the following

1. HDMI cable from console to TV

2. Plugged in Headset USB to console plugged green audio cable from headset to Red and White Audio lead

3. Plugged in red and white Audio to component audio output (Only red and White audio on TV).

The only other option I can see is to use the green audio cable in the TV headphone socket.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to change the option in the TV setting to play music out of another source.

That should get you working, also make sure the av jack you are hooked too are for output and not input.

I have the same headset for my set up and here is how I have the connections done:

-USB from headset is plugged into the back of my console

-Red/White RCA is plugged into the composite adapter Here is what it looks like

-HDMI is plugged in from console to tv

If you don't have the adapter or don't want to get it you can just simply plug the green 3.5" jack from the headset into the headphone port of your tv set. Then on your console be sure to adjust your audio options to play through both tv and headset.

Thanks for the replies. If I use the audio adapter alongside an HDMI for the Visual will the audio quality be any better than using the headphone jack?

I just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions. I ended up buying a composite adapter and everything now works brilliantly. I didn't realise a headset could make such a difference to stuff like black ops....you hear so much more.
