Cant disable auto renewal?

Why cant we disable it or remove credit cards/paypal without calling? It's kind of a hassle if you have a lot of accounts.

if you have more then 2 accounts why not purchase a family plan since it is the family then you would only have to turn off autorenewal on 1 account since it affects everyone in the family plan

 

and even then you would be able to handle it all in one phone call

if you do not wish to deal with autorenewal its real simple

 

stick with prepaid membership cards

 removal of a creditcard is simple as stated in the terms of use you must maintain credit info while having a billing account or an active membership

 

you can either wait till your account turns silver after autorenewal is off then remove it from the site or call to remove it

it is upto you

 

some of us actually like their creditcards on file it saves us 20mins entering in the info everytime we want to purchase a promotion

We should have the option to I mean if its our money why cant we turn the renewal off without having to call?

90% of your services still require a phonecall why not xbox?

 

also most of the world already had to cancel by phonecalls we are used to it i do whenever i cancel phone services

I wasn't required to make a phone call when I setup my account and attach my cc info to my profile.  That is the very reason "why" I shouldn't have to make a phone call to remove the information.

Also, "most of the world already had to cancel by phone calls"...? Mind supporting that "finding" with a link to the study?  And are you saying most of the world had to cancel their XBox Live renewals via phone, and we're just used to being able to cancel those online?  Because that is the topic... not your phone service(s).

ummm actually its a FACT that the rest of the world world hadto cancel by phonecall

only 5 regions supported online cancelations

US GERMANY TAIWAN and japan and i forget the other one but won't help in this case as its no longer an option

 

you can sign up for cable service online but you still cannot cancel without a phonecall

you should be used to it by now

every business has the right to set their own rules

please READ the terms of use as it is covered

MS has the right to change and cancel features as we see fit

the only persons who should know your credit info is you and your bank and the business issuing the account

 the rest of the world did have online cancelation at one point at xbox.com but over 3 years ago things do change

ngocphi, just say that Microsoft want to "steal" money from their customers while they don't know what is happening.

A lot of people, including my friends did not even know about auto-renewal, and me, who can't even take off his credit from xbox.

A call? give a call to Microsoft to remove my credit card or to turn off the auto-renewal?

That is the worst excuse. What if someone can't even talk, what's going to happen then?

It is just another case when a company tries to "steal" money "legally", without their customers knowing.

We don't really like Microsoft, but we do like Xbox and games. That is the only reason why most of the customers are still using Microsoft's product.

I would actually like an answer from microsoft as to why we can no longer turn off auto renew on the website.  It used to be an option and one I would like to see put back onto my account options.

This isn't something that some big wig with xbox live is going to come in this thread and talk about.  They made the decision to require you to identify yourself over the phone to terminate your contract with them.  That is the way it is, and it doesn't seem like it is going to change.  Blame the state you live in for not enacting legislation to prevent this like a couple of them have.
