Cant connect to xbox live !

I was playing COD Black ops and then was booted off xbox live. i tested the live connection and it is telling me my mtu setting isnt sufficient. i need an mtu of 1364, i have an mtu setting of 1492. ive had no problems until the last hour or so. been playing on live for a while so its not my equipment or internet connection. ive done everything the support page says to do, not working.

woke up the next morning and, its working fine. maybe xbox didnt like me when i wanted to play..lol

It did it again, so i checked my DSL settings,  I have Verizon so the DMZ Hosting opens up the NAT and what was originally set by me to be used by the xbox had gotten changed by my directv dvr box. along with a few other settings on my modem. for some reason the directv dvr changes the setting whenever it wants to use the internet connection to record or update or whatever which i think is really dumb so i held the little master reset on the back of the modem for about 30 seconds and redid dmz hosting for the xbox now it works again. stupid directv.....

You have Verizon? What brand / model is your modem that they gave you? That's odd that it would give you such a weird problem.

That's pretty weird. I've seen the GT704's have some issues but nothing like that. Silly Direct TV indeed. Glad it's working though. ^^
