cant connect to xbox live with modem

I am trying to connect to xbox live with my Motorola SB5120. I am running the ethernet wire straight from the modem to the 360. Then i go to test the connection. it says:

Test Status

Network: Connected

Internet: Connected

Xbox LIVE: Failed

Then it brings up a screen where it says there is a problem with my connection. I selected more info and it says to change the MTU settings on the router. or directly connect to the modem. I already AM connecting directly to the modem. I have tried this a lot of times, and it just wont work. Ive tried everything i could find on the support site and nothing worked. Can anybody help?

Hi,

Are you swapping the modem connection between the PC and Xbox? If so you need to power the modem off before swapping it over or you can use this workaround:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../67-direct-connection-to-cable-modem

Are you sure Comcast will support two modems at the same time? Sorry I'm not in the US but that is the first thing I'd confirm with them

Usually its one modem one ip address and that's it
