Can't connect to Xbox Live (unless I run a test connection)

Ever since I purchased my new router, Linksys e3200, whenever I turn on my Xbox 360, it no longer auto connects to me to live.  When I click on connect, I get "Cant connect to xbox live. select test connection to troublshoot."  When I test connection, connects fine, and then I can connect. Any ideas?

 

I have MAC Filtering on my router, and i have the xbox 360 mac address added on my router, along with a static IP.  I enabled DMZ and assigned it to the xbox 360 mac address.  What could be going on here?

Are you using the very latest version of firmware on your router? If you are going to use a DMZ ensure you set it up exactly like this:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../59-my-nat-is-strict-or-moderate
