Just had the same problem and found a fix else where:  Go to network setting, configure network, restore factory defaults. After that just reconnect to your network. Worked for me :)

Hi,

As a test:-

  • Power off your modem
  • Connect your xbox direct to the modem (bypass the router) reset the xbox network settings to defaults
  • Power off the Xbox
  • Power on the modem
  • Wait 1 min
  • Power on the Xbox

Does that (direct connect) work?

And also, everytime I power cycle my XBOX, I can connect for maybe a minute or two before getting kicked off. This is how I know its not an Ethernet port error. Thanks MS for trying to rip me off.. scum bags.

Did you do a factory reset of the network settings in the Xbox , if not try that again and do the direct connect to the modem again. If that still fails I'd say your Xbox is faulty. Which you could confirm even further by doing the Xbox network factory reset again and taking it to a friends, and wiring it to their router, if that also fails on IP then yes I'd say its faulty.
