Cant connect to xbox live after storm

Hey recenly i could connect to xbox live easily and happily however after a recent storm i couldnt connect at all. ive tried everything listed in the troubleshooter and even tried using a different xbox and more. ive reseted the modem to default settings and even tried entering the dns servers etc. manually on my xbox and it still cant simply connect. the error pops when its just trying to connect to the router and im sure if it could connect to the router all problems would be solved.i havent tried using a ethernet cable as i dont own one. so please list any suggestions on getting my xbox to connect to my router

Peace, Gre4t Pur3

You really need to try with an Ethernet cable.

At least then you can rule out the wireless adaptor being the issue.

Is it the slim or white console? If it is the white one what colour is the light on the wireless adaptor?

Hello,

Contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to see if there are performance problems in your area. Your ISP may have a service status webpage that you can visit.

I should think that he has internet if he is posting here!!! Secondly He cannot connect to his Router full stop ...it has nothing to do with his ISP's  performance !!!

Hi

It does sound like the Ethernet port could be damaged on your Xbox, you say you've tried another Xbox as well were both of those Xboxes connected to the same router when you had a storm?

I assume the router is working just fine for other devices?

Do you have a modem? Can you power that off and connect direct to the modem, does that work?
