Can't connect to Live since update

Xbox did an update two days ago and now I can't get on Live. I did Live test and it gets halfway through the bar to Live then says reset modem for 30 secs. That doesn't help. Never had an issue before this update and I've been down for two days. Please help. Also i have a thomson router and can not figure out the username and password to check if the ports are all ok. I don't know why it would have changed unless xbox was asking for more MTU on the last update. Please help me get back on LIVE.

Any Error Codes you encounter:

What type of internet do you have? Cable/DSL/T1/3G? Cable

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Time WArner useless

When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen?  halfway to Live finish it stops

I see that you're using a wired connection and that you've tried resetting the modem, but have you tried 1) resetting both the modem AND router, or 2) trying a wired connection directly to the modem (being sure to reset power then, too)?
