Cant connect to live please help.

Hello since yesterday i cant connect to xbox using wired connection ( ethernet tried different cables ) so im trying to test connection but keep getting IP Address error.

So i went to configure network on xbox and the ip starts with 169.254 etc ,the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 and gateway is showing 0.0.0.0 I've tried every solution but still not working :/ it use to work fine until yesterday this problem occurred .

Could you please provide us with your Modem/router brand & model number:

Are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Thanks for your response i've tried the connection wizard still no luck...

Im using a virgin media superhub ( modem mode ) i've connected my netgear WGR614v9 to it, internet works fine on my laptop + imac.

And i aint using a external adapter or anything like that.

Hey INC Flex! Let's see if we can help you find an IP address! From your error codes it seems DHCP is unable to obtain the lease. DHCP automatically assigns your console an IP address and helps ensure that devices connected to the network have unique IP numbers. So it not working is most likely causing the issue!  Can you tell us what steps you've already taken so we don't ask you to repeat any? Have you tried the Ethernet cable in multiple ports on your router? Have you tried resetting your console to factory defaults? Have you tried a direct connection to your Superhub? Let us know! :)

ive tried every solution to this also tried static ip but still no luck, i reseted my console to factory defaults and still same issue. Im getting this problem on 2 xboxs now.

Im using my Superhub modem mode while my netgear router is connected to it. Internet works fine on laptop/computer but just not xbox :/

So i connected a long ethernet to my router from xbox and it works perfectly.. but my xbox is upstairs in my room therefore i use ethernet plugs tried 2 different ones and still same issue this problem is annoying me now :(

Issue is now fixed

I had to put 1 ethernet plug downstairs to my router which now allows the 2 xboxes work using wired  so basicly 1 down and 2 upstairs to xbox
