Can't connect every time i turn my xbox on.

A large majority of the time when i start up my xbox i am disconnected from Live, and i can not connect to it unless i go and reset my router and modem. This has been going on for a couple months now and is starting to get very very irritating, I have gone through the trouble shooting section of this website and nothing helps for this specific problem, i tried all the solutions and nothing worked, if someone could please help that would be much appreciated.

Modem brand & model number: Motorolla, WNR2000

Router brand & model number: Netgear, SB5101

Network Connection Type: Wireless

If Wireless, what type of encryption are you using? WEP

Things you have tried: Every suggestion the Support/Help section on this site has given, disconnecting and reconnecting, unplugging the adapter,

Is UPnP Enabled? Unknown

Is NAT Type Open? Yes

Any Error Codes you encounter:

What type of internet do you have? Cable

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Comcast

When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen?: "There's a problem with your connection. Select more info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it."

It's not that i can't connect at all, it's that I have to go and restart the router and modem every time i turn the xbox on to connect, and sometimes more than once, and as of late the quality of live when i do connect is awful, netflix won't work, updates on games that should take 5 seconds take an hour, stuff on the dashboard wont load. I am almost certain this isn't a problem with our internet here because our computers work fine, and the wii has very minimal problems if any.

I turned my xbox on to check and its connecting when i turn it on now, but the problems still remains that nothings actually working, updates on games wont load, netflix wont start, stuff on the dashboard wont work, its running but at a bare minimum to the point where it might as well not be because nothings working

Turn your router of modem off and back on, then wait 30 seconds.

Have you restarted your router or modem?"

but as i have said, this only works as a temorary solution, the next time i turn my xbox on i have to do it again.

This problem has been going on for a couple months now and has not changed, a man from our cable company came today to try and fix our signal and he thought he did but the problem with the xbox has not changed.

You may want to try setting your IP settings manually. You can do so by checking out step 4 in this guide.

I am having the exact same problem and i have tried that last step (on 2 separate xbox 360's in the same house and i know their not interfering because i went to sleep and woke up before the other one was turned on and i was disconnected) and i get about every suggestion there is from the xbox but it will sometimes connect to the router but not the internet and if it does it wont connect to live
