Cannot sign into Xbox Live "Add Security" problem

Everytime I go to sign in it says "We need the email address and password for your Microsoft account so we can check and update the security of your Xbox profile. For more info, go to Xbox.com/proofs". The after entering my email and password the little loading symbol just keeps spinning and nothing happens. No error code. No nothing. This has been going on for about a month now. I have seen all the related posts which talk about updating the security proofs. I have updated all of the stupid "security proofs" that are now for some reason needed, as if my Xbox controls a missile silo and needs all this enhanced security... it's a video game console for Christ sakes! This is far beyond annoying and needs to be fixed. A month addition to my gold subscription is in order as well as I'm paying for something I'm not getting.

I have deleted my account off of my console, wiped the cache clean several times and then attempted to download my profile back onto the console. Now when I'm downloading the profile it starts but then stops about a quarter of the way through at the "downloading your game info"

So far I have: Power cycled my router, hub, and exterior internet connection and waited the 15 minutes before turning them back on. Restarted my Xbox (several times). Deleted my Xbox live profile and cleared the Xbox cache (several times). I have reset my windows live password. I have updated my security proofs and confirmed them all. I have also tested my internet connection on Xbox and everything shows "connected" and all of the statuses show "up".

When I try to restore (download) my profile to my console, the download starts but then the screen just stays at "Hi Police21786! Downloading your game info." The status bar shows that it's about a quarter the way through and the Xbox loading symbol just keeps spinning away.

Police21786,

If all security proofs updated, you can try:

Download profile in other storage device (Other HDD or USB Flash Drive, if your console have internal memory need to try in another console). Here the link for USB Flash drive Setup support.xbox.com/.../usb-flash-drive.

Please try without HDD attached just try with USB Flash Drive. i Recommend SanDisk Brand.

Another option will be try download profile with another ISP

Please confirm if works

Negative. I use a flash drive normally. I have tried to download my profile to the HDD and to the flash drive. Neither works. Both get stuck at the same point.

Greetings!

Can you sign in to your Microsoft account and confirm that the security info (phone number, alternate email address, security question) has been updated/added to your Microsoft account. Thank you!

Make sure your profile is completely removed from your Xbox storage device. Clear your Xbox system cache 3 times in a row. Restart your console and try download your profile.

Post back and let us know how it goes.

Don't look for help on here.  These idiots(support) cannot get anything right.  I have had the same problem and not a single answer has solved the problem. I even called and they said, "This error's solution is pending. Please be patient."

taidara: Like I said.... all of that has already been done....multiple times.

TheBluesHound: Yeah, very frustrating. I'm getting sick of the canned answers and the "Why don't you try turning it off and turning it back on" solutions.
