cannot sign in

I had to update my credit card because it had expired, when i updated it I also updated an old email to a new email. I re did my profile and paid for a year of gold membership. Now I cannot link xbox live to the new profile. i already deleted the old profile and when i sign in to xbox live is says the info i already linked to another profile. whats going on?

Ok, so you updated your email, and paid for a Gold membership, but put the Gold membership on the wrong account?

If that is the case, that is unfortunate as Gold memberships are not transferable between accounts.  

If I am off, please clarify, and we can work from there.
