Hi,

Can you reset your Xbox network settings to factory defaults and then leave them an do a retest and post the values up again

Do you use an mac address/wireless station access lists on the Arris and are you 100% you are using the correct WPA2 key, also is your SSID (network name) all one word with no spaces?

Also other common connectivity issues listed here, have a read:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../111-troubleshooting-and-improving-wireless

I'm not running a MAC, but the Arris is a router/modem all in one I guess.  I am not 100% sure about the WPA2 key either, how would I find out.  Network name, what my home connection network is called?  Boy, do I feel somewhat stupid not being able to answer your questions.  Any help still appreciated.

Hi,

Interesting link thanks for that, lets try a few things before we agree with that link. So I can see on your latest test you have turned off wireless security is that right? That is a good step for now while we are troubleshooting so keep WPA, WPA2, WEP turned off.

As for your network name, go into your ARRIS setup menu and look in your wifi configuration it will be known as your Wireless SSID/Network Name

Is that all one word with no spaces? If it is, can you try changing your wireless mode on the ARRIS to Wireless G only, basically anything but Wireless N to see if it will connect with no security in that mode

And don't feel stupid about answering questions! A lot of people don't know or need to care how their network is set-up :o)

network name is one word, with a dash in the middle, but no spaces.  I hit reset on the modem/router last night and then I was able to connect...but tonight no luck.

i cannot figure out how to change the Arris to Wireless G. No manual came with the device.

Can you access the wireless settings though, if you can access the Arris web menu it will just be a case of looking around for it,  I can't find a decent manual for it either :|
