cannot connect to xbox live

I was playing and decided to take a break for a few hours. When I returned I signed in and connected to xbox live, but when I tried to play any game i was disconnected from xbox live until i returned to the dashboard. There were no error messages or updates to be downloaded. I contacted support and they said it could be my ISP. The catch to that is my roommate has no problem connecting to xbox live or playing any games. Any ideas?

There is no ongoing issue. This morning there was an outage associated with a few ISPs, but that issue has since been resolved. If you are unable to connect, please review the START HERE sticky and post the info it requests in a new thread.

I have same problem exactly, like many others i think... have we had any word from MS about this ongoing issue in the last couple of months?
