So is it that you can not connect to Xbox live to get the update or does Xbox live connect at all?

Also have you tried.

1.  Making sure that you have enough storage space

2.  Clearing the Xbox 360 console cache

3. Have you tried removing and reinserting the storage hard drive or flash disk

Also please make sure you follow these steps when copying to CD.

  1. On your computer, download the update file.
  2. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
  3. Unzip the file:
    • If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
    • If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).
  4. Insert a blank, writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
  5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and choose to write (burn) the files to the disc.
  6. Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
  7. Restart the console.
  8. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

I cannot conect to Xbox live as well as cannot  connect to Xbox live to get update. It keeps getting error code 335a-0000-0080-0300-8007-2af9. I follow the step to copy CD but it does not work. When I put the CD in. the message"mixed media disc" comes up on the screen. Then, I reboot the console. Nothing happen. There is no message asking me to instal program.

Hey Noom, go ahead and try with a USB drive. I think that tends to be a little easier than the CD option.

Follow these steps: insert your USB device, open up Memory under System Settings, highlight the HDD, press "Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X", select OK and let the console restart. When it comes back up, it should start updating.
