For a few months now, I have been using the simplest method to connect my Xbox 360 to the internet. I simply plug an ethernet cable into my laptop, which obviously has the internet because you can read this. I went a week without playing it and all of a sudden I'm getting an IP address error. I've tried everything, restored factory defaults, etc. I have a feeling this is more related to my network's security, since my family recently installed a Moca network across the house, and this is the first time I've tried to use Xbox live since the instillation (which has also been buggy). I believe some of the network's settings changed during the installation. Looking at the suggestions, the only one I've received so far that sounds a bit relevant is MAC address, as they state you may need to use an alternate MAC address if you normally connect a cable modem directly to your computer. It sounds like using an alternate MAC address may be a good idea, but what alternate MAC address do I use? I probably can't use any random combination of 12 letters and numbers. Please, please help.
