Cannot connect to network, but xbox can detect signal

Hi,

Just yesterday while I was playing online, my xbox live randomly disconnected... I tried signing back in but there would be a red cross disallowing me to do so between the xbox and router, even though a signal is detected.

I've tried all I can think of, I've used the help tutorial, attempted to port forward, reverted to manual ip and back to automatic, reset all wireless settings and still nothing.

Help would be greatly appreciated,

Thankyou

What is the make and model of your router?

What wireless adapter are you using on your Xbox?

Do you have MAC filtering enabled on your router?

Have you run the "Restore to factory defaults" function on your Xbox?  It is in the Network Settings under Additional Settings.

My router is a D-Link DIR-615

The Wireless adapter is internal (new 360 slim)

MAC filtering is off

I have already restored to factory default... but to no avail.

Turn off the Wifi protected setup option and set the broadcast channel of the router to another channel, usually 1 or 11 will have little issue. After that is done use the "restore to factory defaults" function in the xbox and reconnect to your network. Lemme know if that helps :)

Ah yes Antillion my broadcast channel is already set to 11, maybe I should try 1?

How do you turn off the wifi protected setup option? Is it in router settings or xbox setting?

Should be under the advanced section, listed as wifi protected setup on the left hand side, should have an option to enable or disable the WPS there. If it's not in that section then it will be in wireless network settings under manual settings and have it's own field for WPS at the top with a check box for enable/disable. Last little bit of info on this is that only certain revisions of the router have WPS - so knowing what firmware you're running can help narrow down if your unit has WPS at all.

I tried everything Antillion said, as I'm having the exact same problem, same router, only difference is Halo Reach edition 360. I'm still unable to connect after trying all that.

I'll test if the above works in a few hours; any idea how this problem occurs?

Like I initially said, I was in mid-game and the whole connection just dropped out between the xbox and network when I tried to test connection. My xbox's wireless could still connect to the router / connection, but not the network as it says on the xbox.
