Cannot access network configuring

So there was a storm on sunday, my xbox yet lives, but it will not read the network cable I have plugged into it.

When I select "wired network", it prompts me with "to use a wired internet......." then I select "OK", and nothing happens. I try again and its the same process.

Is this a console issue, perhaps storm damage? If so, can I fix the individual component without replacing the console?

And if not, how can I get around this?

Any responses are greatly appreciated :)

I just went to walmart and bought a new one, still giving me the same message.

Then it seems that the network adapter on your console is faulty. Do you have the Xbox 360 Slim with built-in wireless N network adapter? If so, try use a wireless connection with your console.

Good luck!
