cancelling xbox live and getting a refund

I have been emailing the support centre to get my xbox live cancelled and a refund from gold which was automatically debted from my account last month but nobody has responded and I can't get through to anybody on any phone numbers that I've found on the website.. I'm in Australia and this is really really frustrating

as ngocphi stated, email support will prove no help. you must phone customer support for this and they will get it sorted straight away.

Good luck getting a refund.  I'm not sure if you will as you are responsible for your account.  If you didn't want your card charged you should have contacted them and told them you wanted to turn off auto renewal.  That is what you will have to do now.

thanks for your replies.. I found a number to ring in Oz and have cancelled xbox and received a refund... they were really helpful and it was hassle free... the hardest part was finding the phone number!!

@chaloval is right. I just got refunded £39.99 for a 12 month gold membership using the same method. All I had to do was wait for an agent to respond and then explain to the agent that I've had trouble with switching auto-renewal off in the past and didn't wish to purchase a gold membership right now. The agent (Ellen) processed the refund into my account and disabled auto-renewal for me. This all took just under an hour. Most of which, was spent waiting in the queue- I joined as '15'. So yeah, defo go for it! I got £39.99 back!

it depends

first is it the month to month membership

if so no refunds as only 30days codes are given not less

3- 12 months you have a limited time you need to talk to the support to find out if you are within the limited time
