Canceled auto-renewal, but was still charged for the month?

I canceled my auto-renewal due to low funds last month.   My gold was set to expire today, 5/17/2012. On 5/2/12 I was charged $10.00 on my bank account even though auto renewal was off.  Apparently Microsoft charged me, but did not give me a month in return as my gold is expired. It says in my payment history that I was charged in the billing section of this site, so I know it is not a problem with my bank account.

I would either like a refund, or the month that was paid for when I was charged. I just do not know how to proceed. I have taken pictures of the billing accounts and my bank accounts just to make sure.

Your account has been removed from gold. You can tell as it has silver in your name within the forum's.

I'm sure you've found this out already, but the auto-renewal cancellation wouldn't have had anything to do with this May 2nd charge. If I'm not mistaken, it's because of the renewal fee on April 17th, that is just now clearing since the bank has up to 30 days to clear a payment after the renewal date. I wanted to post in case anyone else ever has this issue.

Just tried getting into multiplayer and Netflix, and both tell me to upgrade to gold.

Well it may of charged you for the next month but if you really are worried about it use the Contact Page or call them 18004MYXBOX

Yes sir, I just logged on today and it told me it had expired. I was prompted to either renew or revert to free.

You're correct. You're account is not showing as Gold now.  Most billing issues are handled through Xbox Phone support.  You can request a call from the contact page or if you're in the US you can call 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
