I've been trying for 2 days - why isn't the accounts problem fixed yet?  I'm in Middle East and can't phone, I'd like to do it online - it should be one click - what is the issue???

read this thread

like 90% of services in LIFE  that you use you must call to cancel autorenewal

how you make that call is upto you

certainly you can call as voip and regular land lines are available worldwide

if you are in the military you would easily have access to a land line

cost of the call is on you

nope 90% of services still require a phonecall cable internet water heat hydro milk deliveries  phones and even cellphones due to cancelation fees and requirement of you to VERIFY who you are along with appointments  usually for disconnection or turn off date which has to be done with a live agent

it is upto you to call

only the US has the option to remove autorenewal and only in 3 states

unless your creditcard is in those 3 states you will not have the option

spending 2 days on a problem that common sense would tell you otherwise to call support? since you do it with 90% of your other services

really you spent more time trying to figure something out rather then a simple 5-15min phonecall?

under manage payment options it says if you want to turn off autorenewal you need to call support

or the stickied thread under my account

Hey FullMetalUndies - So what country is your XBOX Live account registered to? If you are using an XBOX Live account that's fully supported region by Microsoft XBOX Live then you have a local number you can call. Like UAE has their own set of numbers. If your account is in the United States (which you did on your own) you should expect to call the 1-800 number for the United States regardless of where you are located to cancel whatever subscription you have. Some places do have this ability to cancel on the website by simply clicking a tick box and pressing yes to opt out most do not and that is because of laws. So if you would like to cancel your automatic renewal and that tick box is not available to you and you have an account in a country where your technically not fully supported then you honestly only have yourself to blame. You have to take the initiate to call and cancel your automatic renewal as it states in the terms of service which you can read here if you'd like: Section 6.4 and 6.10 > www.xbox.com/.../livetou. Hope that gives you some help.

There's a facility to do this on this site - a check box.  What's this got to do with life or the military?

(A check box is a little box on screen that you click in, then you generally hit a 'send' button to process the request.  They've been around for some time.  They're all over the internet, so I won't provide a URL - look out for one and give it a try.  Be careful you don't slip and opt for something you don't want though.  If you feel uncomfortable, telephone the company instead.  Now those telephones have been around a Really long time - Alexander Graham B....)
