Can't stay connected to xbox live using new gateway

About three days ago we purchased the Pace 4111N dsl gateway from at&t since our 2wire gateway became obsolete. Ever since then i am constantly disconnected from xbox live or can't connect at all. When i manage to stay connected i try accessing the avatar store or try playing battlefield 3 and i immediately lose connection while the gateway's service light gives out and the broadband light starts blinking red even if i connect directly to the gateway. The gateway's lights go green after a couple a minutes. I have tried just about all the troubleshooting steps like restarting the gateway, restoring the xbox to factory defaults, and changing the wireless security. I apologize if this has been asked before but i could use some help.

Hey no worries....... when you do get disconnected, have you tried to test your connection? if so what error message do you get?

heres what I would try also

1. go to network settings and select configure network

2. write down the ip and dns settings

3. select ip settings, hit manual then input all the settings you wrote down

4. login to your gateway by going to your pc and typing in 192.168.1.254 in the address bar

the password should be on a sticker on the gateway

5. select "settings"

then go to "Firewall"

next select "Applications and Pin Holes abd DMZ"

then select your device's ip address from the device list and save

then try it again

Hope This Helps :D

Live Connection Error

Your console is connected to the internet but can't contact Xbox Live.

It recommends unplugging the router/modem for 30 seconds, but I've tried that several times already.

gotcha, try this, go into system settings > network settings > configure network

scroll to the right to additional settings

restore to factory defaults

after that go back to system settings > storage > highlight your HDD or MU and press Y

clear system cache

then power off the xbox

unplug the power and dsl line in the back of your gateway for a full 5 minutes

then reconnect and try again

that'll force the modem part of that gateway to pull some fresh info from your isp
