I have been trying to sign in to my account on XBL and I can't I get the error code 8004005. It has happened to me before and i had to redownload my account but I can't anymore it doesn't work. Anny ideas ?
So, since Microsoft is security minded and protects your account data, they added proofs to secure your account. And, since Xbox LIVE accounts are built on top of Microsoft Account security, that applies to gamers like you and me. Proofs are:
1) A phone # (preferably a cell # to text you a message - very convenient)
2) An alternate email address (used to send a password reset confirmations)
3) A 'Trusted Device' (now works on Mac & Linux boxen)
4) A Security Question and Secret Answer
try this... clearing your marketplace system data and clearing your system cache, restarting the xbox then testing your xbox live connection, to clear the marketplace data go to settings, storage, select all devices go to system items and delete the market
place data, and to clear system cache go to setting, system, storage press y on your hard drive or memory unit, clear cache select yes, turn off the xbox for 10 - 15 seconds then try it to download your profile again.
