Can't remember windows live id associated with gamertag

I am on my wife's windowlive account so I could post this question and see if I can get any help.  When I first setup my xbox live account I used a buddies email address, which now I can't remember. This wasn't so bad until I updated my xbox. Now it will not let me sign in to my profile without my windows live id and password, which I don't know.  I knew how to find it before the update but now I can't sign in to even look it up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest contacting Xbox support by phone. If you can verify the other info on the account they can provide you with the live id and then you can go to login.live.com and reset your password.

Hi there BRIDE!  I'm sorry you are having trouble with your WLID.  In order to recover your WLID, you will need to do as my friend Kiesey78 said and contact Xbox Support directly by calling them at 1-800-4MY-XBOX (US & Canada). or you can request for them to call you instead by going to support.xbox.com/contact.

You will need to contact a billing agent (I do believe) and then they will ask you for a few account questions.  You should have the following answers ready and be sure you know them when you contact them.

DO NOT GIVE OUT THIS INFORMATION ON THE FORUMS

  1.  Answer to your secret question
  2. Last four digits of your credit card on file (if there is one)
  3. Address
  4. Full name on the account
  5. Phone number
  6. and any additional information they request.
