Can't keep two Xbox's connected to Xbox Live at one time

Hoping to get this resolved before tonight so a friend and I can play Dead Space 3 together. Since there is no System Link, which is fail.

To clarify. I still have a 'fat' xbox so to speak, while my friend has a slim.

So I have the Ports open for my xbox. Everythings completely fine on that end. But if my Xbox is connected to Xbox live, and we turn the second xbox on. It'll connect to Xbox live, and anywhere from 1 second to a whole minute, the first xbox will be disconnected from xbox live.

If we re-connect the first Xbox then the second one gets disconnected the same way.

How do we go about fixing this issue?

Let me add a little detail.

UpNP probably spelled wrong is enabled, NAT type is Open.

The first Xbox is wired to the modem. The slim xbox can be wired but is wireless. Either way the same thing happens.

The Modem is an ADSL2+ Comtrend. The Router is a Cisco Lynksis router.

Keep in mind that 2 xboxs can't always connect to live at the same time. It depends on your router.

Shad0wmanUK has a great guide here. Check it out.

Some, but only some, routers are fast enough to support two Xboxen at once. The Netgear WNDR3700 and the D-Link DIR-655 are very fast and reliable.

with UPNP it should be possible. Be sure that you have the latest Firmware for your Router and DMZ and Port Forwarding disabled. Restart the Router with only UPNP and latest Firmware on and both xboxes should connect.

Cisco are very good Routers.

If I disable the Port Forwarding my xbox would constantly get disconnected from live. I have to keep it enabled.

I tried to update the firmware but the Lynksis website is a little confusing, I thought I'd found it but there were 3 versions and I couldn't figure out which one my router was.

Turn off UPnP, save the change, turn it back on, and save the change, then test again.
