Can't connect to Xbox Live/Update issue

So for the past week or so i haven't been able to download my profile. Whenever I try to, I'm told to connect to Xbox Live. However, when I try to connect, I get this message:
"A system update is required to sign in to Xbox Live, but the update is current;y unavailable. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support." I've looked online and tried multiple solutions, but nothing is working. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are wireless can you also state whether you are using the white or black external adapter or the Xbox 360S Internal adapter

This will help us get a better picture of you network set up to provide you specific troubleshooting steps. :) Also since this is an update issue can you review our "Issues downloading an update" sticky as well and let us know the steps you've tried to download the update!

So I have most of the information requested:

The modem brand is Netgear but I couldn't find the model number. The router is RCA and the model number is DCM425. The external adapter is black. So far I've tried the USB suggestion and clearing my cache and trying to redownload the update. The UPnP is enabled. I wasn't sure what an NAT error was so I didn't get that down. My ISP is Internet Explorer and here is the following numbers for the letter things:

W: 0000-0021

X: 0000-F001

Y: 208A-4840

Z: 0000-0000

ID: 0006-0000

L: 8015-0002

Q: 8007-0435

T: Wireless

D: 192.168.1.1, 0.0.0.0

S: WPA2

C: 6

Have you tried connecting wired to the router or modem as a test until you have the update? Is it still trying to download the update? If so what happened when you tried to update via USB

Well you are using wireless at the moment I believe. So instead of using wireless as a test can you connect the Xbox directly to the router using an Ethermet cable to see if you can get the update that way

I tried connecting the xbox directly to the router, but it wss still giving me the same message when I tried to download my profile. It's still telling me I need an update that is unavailable. The USB thing seemed to be working at first, but then I just got the same old message when it was done

Go to settings then memory and whilst hovering over the HDD press LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X then it will ask you if you want to re download the latest update.
