Can't connect to xbox live party chat, or team up in games of Blops 2.

This started to happen about 3 weeks ago, my two other friends are haven the same issue, we are all on vodafone mobile broadband and everything was fine up until 3 weeks ago. Our other (3rd) friend is on eircom broadband and we can all connect up with thim no probs, but when he leaves, we get kicked out of party. I have just been onto vodafone and they said all is fine on their end (settings and what not) Any ideas?? Could it be xbox issue?? Ip probs?? All our NAT types are open and we can play online no prob's, it's purely party chat and teaming up issues. Getting sick of it now tbh, what's the point in having a years sub to xbox and it not working.

But, there are NAT problems which do not appear in the Test Xbox Live Connection Test.

Some NAT problems are subtle and don't appear in the Test Xbox Live Connection test. Most likely there's a port blocked or misdirected away from your Xbox, in your router, modem, or at your ISP. Since the Xbox 360 uses different ports than PCs & Macs ordinarily use, you can't see the effect of a port blockage except on the Xbox, for the NAT problem is really the blockage or misdirection of ports.

A sequential power cycle is the first step in clearing connection problems, and the order and timing of the steps is important to success:

1) turn off the Xbox and unplug the power supply cord from the back of the Xbox then

2) unplug power from the router (Some folks have a combination modem-router AKA 'gateway' or only use a modem with no router. If either, skip steps 3 & 6).

3) unplug power from the modem.

4) Wait at least 5 minutes then replug the modem/gateway power.

5) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem/gateway which says BROADBAND, ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router or a modem with no router, then when that light says it's ready, skip to step 7.

6) Wait until the WiFi light on the router is on; you may or may not use WiFi, but it's still a good indicator your router is finished booting up.

7) Plug in and turn on the Xbox.  For more background on Ports, see whatismyipaddress.com/port

Then, the accumulated lag times of your connection and the other player (where is he? where are you in SE Eire?) exceed what's permissible for player-to-player links, and unless there's someone in the middle (i.e., the third player you mention) who has a very fast connection to both you and player two, your joint lag times are too great.

Since you are using a PC which is NOT optimized for routing efficiently (it works, sorta) and the Huwei dongle is also not designed for gaming-speed connections with large packets, I'm not surprised. Windows (or Linux, or MacOS) is not a real-time routing operating system.

I get what you are saying, but we have all been using the same setup with the past two years and all was well, nothing has changed only the connection to party problem, I'm at a loss here. We are all in the Waterford area.

Greetings graham!

I assume you are behind multiple levels of NAT?! Even if there was an option where you can Port Forward, it is not very likelly for this to work if you are behind multiple levels of NAT.

What kind of firewall are you running on your computer?
