Can't connect to xbox live / ICMP responses message / Sept 1 2011

What Country/State/Province do you live in: USA - MN
Modem brand & model number: Motorolla SBG900
Router brand & model number: Motorolla SBG900
Network Connection Type: Wired
Things you have tried: Restart Xbox and also router, looked up on xbox.com, found others that have same issue on xbox.com blog, took Mister Gwyther (official representative of Xbox Support) advise and started a post with the answers to the bold questions.
Is UPnP Enabled? Yes
Is NAT Type Open? It was (I reset modem in attempt to remedy issue)
Any Error Codes you encounter: None
What type of internet do you have? Cable
Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Sjobergs Cable (local company/ contacted them/ know them well/ no changes on thier side)
After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen? Your console can connect to Xbox LIVE, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to ICMP responses.

it's something on microsoft's in and they trying to put it on us and our ISPs to save there ***. They screwed up! fixed this Microsoft.

Same problem I contacted xbox and was told to call my isp with a different ip address for them to add into some kind of dmz. my isp told me they too have received literally thousands of calls about the same problem and that it was a problem with xbox. I called xbox again and talked to a different representative who told me xbox wasn't the only one affected but playstation, world of warcraft  and some others were also affected so at the moment there's nothing they can do and I told me to just wait it out.

yup....mine is giving me the MTU crap...but router and everything checks out...i like how when u go to the xbox live status it says everything is fine...god damn i wanna play Madden

Xbox told me it was an east coast problem. i got friends that live close to me and there not having any problems but have different isp. mine is frontier/verizon

I'm getting this too.  I can log in to LIVE from my PC, and my Playstation3 is working fine.  Reset my router to factory defaults, upgraded firmware.  Nothing works.  There is no problem with my router other than Xbox Live on my 360.  I'm in VA.

Ruined my night.  Thanks Microsoft.  They had better fix this.  I should have come here first, but their stupid "Xbox Live status" claims everything is fine.  Really making me mad.
