Can't connect to network / XBOX Live whatsoever

So I just got this xbox live used and I've been trying to connect it to xbox live, it won't even connect to network. I've tried soooo many things, like manually putting in my IP address and any other information I could find and I've even tried connecting it to my laptop and it still didn't work. I also have a black wireless adapter attached to the usb port at the moment.

These are the #'s I'm getting

w 0000 0000
x 8000 0035
y 0000 0000
z 0000 0000
id 0000 0001

A sequential power cycle is the first step in clearing connection problems, and the order and timing of the steps is important to success:
1) turn off the Xbox and unplug the power supply cord from the back of the Xbox then
2) unplug power from the router (Some folks have a combination modem-router AKA 'gateway' or only use a modem with no router. If either, skip steps 3 & 6).
3) unplug power from the modem.
4) Wait at least 5 minutes then replug the modem/gateway power.
5) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem/gateway which says BROADBAND, ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router or a modem with no router, then when that light says it's ready, skip to step 7.
6) Wait until the WiFi light on the router is on; you may or may not use WiFi, but it's still a good indicator your router is finished booting up.
7) Plug in and turn on the Xbox.  For more background on Ports, see http://whatismyipaddress.com/port

What Country/State/Province do you live in?  Alberta, Canada

Modem brand & model number:

Router brand & model number:

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Black Wireless with 2 attens

Things you have tried: I've tried the troubleshooting tips on XBOX. I've done factory reset, I've manually added in the IP address and all that information. I have turned off the system, unplugged everything for 5 minutes, and booted it back up. I have taken off the wireless adapter and plugged it back in 5 minutes later. I have even tried connecting it straight to my laptop and bridging the connection when I did this, it almost connected to network like it actually showed that it was trying, but didn't work.

Is UPnP Enabled? Not sure what that is.

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT? No NAT errors.

Any Error Codes you encounter:  I don't know where to find the codes. But it's just that I cant connect to network.

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Shaw

Just found them out. I have an ASUS router > RT- N13U Superspeed N Wireless Router.

And a Motorola modem > SB5102 Cable Modem.

I also copied some of the numbers from the bottoms of them like MAC numbers and SN number on the modem.

Can you please let us know what wireless security you are using? WPA2-PSK(AES) is the best setting if you can use that

I don't think we're using security.. Like our neighbours can access our wifi.

I feel so dumb, I don't even know how to find out my security.

I just found a tab saying 'Authentication Method" And one of the options is WPA2-Personal, but originally it's 'Open System'.
