Can't Change Windows Live ID

I'm having a problem with switching my gamertag to a different Windows Live ID.  This is a step-by-step of what happens:

Current ID: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
New ID: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

XXXX G will be transferred to the new Windows Live ID.

Yes, change (OK Done)
No, cancel

As soon as I do, I get the following ERROR:

( X ) Xbox LIVE Marketplace
Can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE.
Please try again later.

Status code: 80154023

What is going on with my account?  (And before you ask, YES I have access to both accounts, YES I'm inputting the correct IDs/passwords, and YES both addresses are valid.)

There is nothing wrong with your account, that is an error that comes up when there is possibly maintenance going on with the Xbox Live Marketplace.. Just keep trying and it should eventually allow you to complete the change.

I would have to say try calling 1800-4MY-XBOX.

Since, This error is due to the Windows Live ID you are trying to change to is currently registered in a different region than the region associated to your Xbox LIVE account.

To solve this issue ensure your new Windows Live ID matches your current region associated to your Xbox LIVE account.  You can check the region of your new Windows Live ID, and change it by doing the following.

  1.    Log in to accounts.live.com with your new Windows Live ID.
  2.    Confirm the country/region is correct.
  3.    If you need to change the country/region select the change link.
  4.    Click Save to save any changes made.

Hi, I have the same error.

I have called at XBOX support several times, and nobody knows the solution.

It is not a problem of the "Region associated of the Windows Live IDs", because I have checked this in the two WLIDs, and the error 80154023 still appears. I have done this with a person of Xbox SAT.

Regards!!

Hey there Toxic! I just wanted to clarify your post. You say that you have tried two different WLID, both matching the region you live in, and neither worked, correct? Can you also visit https://billing.microsoft.com and check under Personal Information to make sure your profile is the same region as the WLIDs? If not, can you create a new WLID that matches the region of your profile and try again? Let me know if that helps, thanks!

Yes, yes...

I have tried with different WLIDs, and the same region (my region), the same address, all exactly the same; and all the data correctly.

But the error 80154023 still continues when I try to change the WLID associated at my gamertag.

In fact. The SAT did give me some microsoft points, because after three calls, they cannot solved this error.

I have readed in any forums, that It could be, because when you buy several things with differents WLIDs, the system cannot transfer these purchases from one WLID to another.

Thank you for try to solved this error!

Regards!!

Hey,

Make sure the regions are same. More than likely like iRayDawg stated, there is probably some maintenance going on.

I had this problem once. It has nothing to do with the region nore does it have anything to do with the marketplace update or maintenance it's your router. Sometime's if you turn it off then back on it works other time's it doesn't but wait at least one day and try it tomorrow then it surley will work. I hope this helped.

Hi,

I don't understand that the error 80154023 could appear for a problem with the router.

I have a ADSL of 6 megas in download, and 1 mega in upload.

I always have  "OPEN NAT". I have created partys (being the host in the game) in Gears, Halo, COD,  In fact, the Xbox have a static IP, with the ports open correctly:

•Puerto 88 (UDP)

•Puerto 3074 (UDP y TCP)

•Puerto 53 (UDP y TCP)

•Puerto 80 (TCP)

These ports appears in the offical microsoft support spanish page:

support.microsoft.com/.../es

For this reason , I don't understand that the reason of this error could be for the router.

But If I can to find another router, I will try it again.

And thank you for the interest, and for the answer about my problem.

Regards!!

I continuos with the problem. 80154023

Now I have two errors more:

- 80070057 - When I try to change some facturation data (in the xbox. But when I change it from the computer, I can do it perfectly)

- 80153003 - When I try to quit my credit card associated.

I had thinking that this error 80154023, could appear for a problem with the credit card associated at my gamertag. I have eliminated this credit card, and I have put a paypal account associated.

But the error 80154023 continous appearing.

At the moment, I have a 3+3 months gold suscription. And It ends in june 2012.
