Can't change display setting to 1080p

Moving my gaming set-up to a new TV. Going to a 1080p LCD, from a 720p plasma, & console settings won't change....screen just flicks then blacks-out & reverts to previous setting. Any help? Thanks

Sounds like the TV is not supporting the output of the XBOX - you using HDMI or Comp hook ups?

Make sure you are using the other set of 3 wires that aren't the traditional Red, White, Yellow. And also make sure that the switch on your A/V coords are set to the HD setting.

I recently moved my xbox from being connected to my computer through DVI to my TV which I know supports 1080p but I cannot change to 1080p on the xbox. I think changing displays makes the xbox 360 go bonkers.

Are you sure your TV supports 1080p?

If you can't see the image correctly that is most likely the case.
