I have called several times, but yet, it is hard to find out what to do to turn it off.
Could some one post the exact steps through via phone to turn off auto-renewal.
Such as what numbers to press when going through this method.
you call and get billing and cancelations (each menu is different for each region)
even if you get the wrong department
they can transfer you but it does incur hold time

Call support for your region. Select BILLING. Then tell the support rep when you are connected to one that you wish to turn off auto renewal on your account.
Be aware though that if you decide to purchase any Live subscriptions via the Dashboard it will turn auto renewal back on and you will need to call to turn it back off again.
