can not join live parties.

i have a lot of issues with xbox live, before this it was always my nat type that was closed. after some reconfiguring (twenty times or so) i still have one problem.

i can not join live parties or send live party invites. also recieving any messages and invites is not working. also here on the site i don't get the messages of xbox live.

what i did try to solf it:: reboot my xbox and clear my case of my HDD. i use an xbox elite. so not theslim version. i hope i get some more options to try out.maybe a system reset works?"

Could you try delete a portion of the system update and re-install the update. Follow the steps up front: How to delete system update.

Turn off your console. Press and hold the sync button (the small one you use to connect your wireless controllers). While holding press the power button to turn your console on. Continue to hold the sync button until the console is completely booted up.

Go to System Settings and choose storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

    Press the left bumper.
    Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button.
    Press the left bumper.
    Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button. 

Restart the Xbox and apply the system update.

sorry for the late respons i needed some time to figure it out and i was away ona short holiday:"

i tried to send a message over the site and with out error messages or anything. i just get the normal windows of message send. but the reciever doesn't get my message:

in other news i still can not join any party who i set open my the creators and i still get the error "need invation to join the party"

i tried all sugestion shown abouve and on the normal help desk page.

Hey Tretron!  Hmm, so you can't send and receive messages at all?  That doesn't seem something that would be specific to the console.  Can you please try send/receiving them over Xbox.com?

  • If you CAN send messages over the website, then please try downloading your profile to a different console (a friend's maybe, or even one in a store) and see if you can send/receive that way. 
  • If you can NOT send them over the website, then can you please post a pic of exactly what happens when you try?


One way or another, we'll get to the bottom of it!

edit: i defined the problem not as one that effects parties but also i can't send messages and receive them.

the ports of my router: they are opened to the ports needed to xbox live.
