Can not connect to xbox live

I have 2 notebooks and my xbox running on my network, the computers both work fine, and there are no problems but i can not connect to xbox live?  If i unplug my router and my modem then plug back in, it works? why? It is working with my computers, but not my xbox? i don't understand why?

There can be multiple issues as one can be a basic open of ports but here is a link that will help you trouble shoot you wired or wireless connection as make sure you select the type you have wired or wireless.

If you are wireless can you also state whether you are using the white or black external adapter or the Xbox 360S Internal adapter

What Country/State/Province do you live in? USA FLORIDA

Modem brand & model number: Brighthouse modem

Router brand & model number:  Linksys WRTU54G-TM

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried: wired, not wireless

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown yes

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT? no

Any Error Codes you encounter: Test fails states that there a problem with your connection

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Brigthouse networks

I don't understand why this is happening? i check my router made sure everthing was correct, reset default settings on the xbox, and i still can not connect to xbox live.  

^^ after i reset my router and modem, xbox live works like there was nothing wrong, i was using it with no errors...Turned off my xbox, restarted and it could not connect to xbox live that i was just connected to less then a minute prior.  Again my connection works because both my notebooks and my cell phone will pick up the network, but my xbox won't until i unplug modem and router, then it will work without any errors till i turn it off^^

Hi,

First of all try:-

Check the Linksys website and ensure your WRTU54G-TM is running the very latest version of firmware

Ensure the WRTU54G-TM have UPnP enabled

On the WRTU54G-TM go into security and turn off (untick) Block Anonymous Internet Requests   and click on save

Set your xbox ip address to auto

Also can you post the make/model of the Brighthouse modem

thanks, i went and reset my router, then i made sure that UPnP was enabled and made sure the block anoymous internet requests was not checked, it seemed to be working fine :-) if i have any additional question or concerns i will definetly post them.  Thank you!
