Can no longer connect to Xbox Live through Ethernet into laptop

I have been connecting my 360 to live with an ehternet cord plugged into my laptop. Live was working perfectly fine but a few days ago I turned the 360 on and it can't connect. It says it cannot obtain the IP address. I do know my IP address and subnet mask and so on. I have entered it all manually many times now. I have reset the router, xbox, loaded it certain ways and so on. It can't connect. I have restored to factory settings and cleared the cache 3 times. I have made sure all the ports had access and my wifi allowed for sharing still. I have turned firewall on and off. I replaced the etnernet cord. Nothing changes. I have no idea why all the sudden it can no longer connect to the internet. Any suggestions or ideas that are different from what I have done?
