Buying A 360

Hey guys,

Im looking at buying another Xbox 360 but just looking for some advice before i do so.

I can get a pre-owned Xbox 360 from EB for $98 20gb or $118 60gb but im a bit worried with the whole RROD issue has anyone gone down this path also does anyone know if you can get extended 12 month warranty on pre-owned consoles from EB?

Also **** toy sale coming up has the 4gb slim Xbox's at $188 im leaning towards this being a new console but how hard is it to track down / install a bigger HDD into these? Without having a bigger HDD it would almost be pointless for me.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I would completely steer clear of any pre-owned Xbox 360 if I were you.  Not only because of any potential fault, but if the previous owner did something to get the console banned from Xbox Live, you'll never be able to connect to the service using that console.  Go for the new console.

You'll be able to get the hard drive from most stores like Big W, JB Hifi, Harvey Norman, etc.  They are not hard to find, but they are a little pricy, so you should compare the price of the 4Gb+extra hard drive with the price console that comes with the hard drive.

An alternative is to use a USB memory, you can use up to two 16Gb USB sticks for a total of 32Gb of Memory (more than enough for a starter).

I agree, I would go with the new one. Considering I bought a 200gb hard drive for $179 awhile back $188 for a brand new slim is a bargain.

If you want a slim with a good sized HDD and extra controller I've seen the COD MW3 LE's selling on sale at HN lately. Not sure if it's the cheapest way to go, but the COD consoles are pretty cool.. I have the MW2 one!

That's a pretty good deal.

But you don't physically get the games. They're preloaded onto the HDD.
