Brand new XBOX 360 slim randomly going crazy turning itself on & off.

This is my second slim 360 and i've only had it set up for 2 or 3 days. Earlier when I was playing a game it got to a certain point and the console turned itself off, I heard the beep from the sensor for the actual power button, then it went crazy constantly beeping turning on and off so fast nothing came up on the screen, the green light in the middle of the power button also stayed on. This happened twice so I installed the game to my harddrive and whiped the disc and it didn't do it again. Now just now I was playing another game that I already have installed on my harddrive and it randomly did it again. What is this problem or what is causing it?

Cheers

Odd. Check and make sure your power brick's plug is all the way into the console just to rule that out.

I thought it would've been something to do with the actual power sensor due to the fact I hear the beep? For example, if you turn off the console through holding down the centre button on the controller, there is no sound?

This is a very interesting issue. It sounds to me like either your console or your power supply is overheating. Try moving your console to a well ventilated environment and trying to play a game. If that doesn't work I recommend returning the console to the retailer since you only had it for a few days.

It's strange because it's set up exactly where my old one was which never had any problems whatsoever lol.

Since it would still be under the store warranty for returns/exchanges I would just take it back for a refund/exchange.
