Brand new xbox 360 slim crashes and then wont turn on

I have a brand new xbox 360, purchased yesterday. We played three different games yesterday over a 6 hour period, and all was good. Got up this morning turned it on and it started up then crashed, screen went dead, buttons wouldn't respond - although they would beep, just not turn on or eject the disk. The power supply turned to an orange light, and it didn't matter if we unplugged it and plugged it back in, it wouldn't budge. We took it back to the shop & they replaced the power supply with a new one, came home, same problem; started up just fine at first and then it stayed on the dashboard for a few seconds before crashing. Unplugged it, tried various other power points around the house, nothing different. Let it rest and tried again, same problem, got to dashboard and then it crashed and we couldn't get it to respond (beeped if you pressed the buttons, but didn't eject the disk or turn on etc).

We are wondering if our house has a problem supplying it with enough power, but then why would it work yesterday and not today?

Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas what we can do? Really not happy to have a brand new machine that's just a black paper weight now...

Hi, that's not good for a brand new system, you say the shop changed the power supply. I would suggest you take the console back again and have the whole system replaced as it does appear to be an issue with the console rather than the power supply.

Broccoli, tiny trees of green goodness.
