booted from xbox live, now cannot connect

I was playing call of duty black ops today, when in the middle of a match I was booted with a message that read something like, online status change can't connect to xbox live, something like that.  I went back to the dashboard and tried to connect and couldn't, so i ran a test of the connection and an error message said, "your console can connect to xbox live, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to icmp responses."  I set my network settings back to factory setting. I restarted my router and my modem. I plugged the xbox directly into the modem and none of these attempts worked.  Nothing was changed for it to stop working, I was connected and playing fine and then just got randomly booted. My router works because my computer is hooked up to it, and my internet is working properly.  I cannot find any solutions online and I am not that tech savvy, so I am unsure as to where to go from here, any suggest would be appreciated thank you

I have had the exact same problem, I was randomly disconnected in the middle of a game in NCAA Football 12, and I am unable to reconnect to Live.  I have reset my connection, modem, and router, the factory settings on my Xbox, and forwarded all the necessary ports, and it still will not connect.

I just experienced the same thing at about 1:00am EST 13 Oct 2011. Was playing GoW3, on wave 33 of Horde, when it dropped me from my party. Now it will not let me rejoin them.

All of the same above resolutions have been attempted to no resolve.

Can someone please answer this?

Same thing happened to me, but a little after 1 am. Was playing 360 most of the day and now cannot connect to live. I keep getting an MTU error even though I've never had to do anything about the settings. I've tried all the suggestions, does not work.

@Power Not trying to be a Douchebag or anything. But when a hand full people come on here saying about the same thing happen to them at the same time. This including me having the same problem aswell.  I'm sure it has nothing to do with their connection. It has to with xbox live. I've had this problem in the past. It randomly kicks you off and while it don't affect other people. So please be a good little ambassador to xbox live and report this problem to them.

@AJ I'm sure this happen to alot people early this morning. Microsoft is just so slow to respond to their mess as usual. I've been keeping a eye on my twitter to see if MajorNelson will saying anything about it. But nothing so far about from him. Hopefully MS will fix it soon. But until then I will just go back to bed and sleep.
