Blue static while playing certain games.

I have an older XBox 360 console that I've had for a few years now and it's been working great up until a while ago when I started noticing that after a bit of time playing certain games (mostly Assassin's Creed Brotherhood) that in the darker areas of the picture blue static would begin to show up and not go away. I'm haven't been able to really find any info on it. I was wondering if this is something I should ignore if my XBox is starting to hit its last legs. Any help/info is appreciated. Thanks.

Not without another cable. Could you perhaps borrow one from a friend?

I have the XBox connected to my TV with the HD a/v cable that came with it and there are two component ports for it and the problem persists on both of them. I don't have another cable to test it with. Visually the cable seems fine. Is there a way to test it?

How is your console connected to your TV? Have you tried another input or another cable?
