Auto Renewal trying to take money from Cancelled card

I have received 5 emails from Xbox support telling me that they have been unable to take the auto renewal fee for Xbox live.

I have a prepaid card to use but it will not accept this code as valid payment.

Please advise, though i will not pay twice for a subscription so paying on a credit card isn't and option

Since they have attempted to charge you, you now have accrued a balance you have to pay off before you can continue using gold on that account. You cannot add a prepaid card until that balance is paid off. You can see the balance you owe at http://commerce.microsoft.com  You would need to contact support directly to speak to billing so they can help you sort out the balance. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or support.xbox.com/contact-us

It is up to you to turn off auto-renewal. Having an expired or cancelled card on file will not turn it off.
