Auto renew

there was a time where I could cancel my auto renew online. why was this ability removed. it takes 2 min to cancel auto renew online but 15+ over the phone. that is not cool Microsoft shame on you.

Seriously, this is an unacceptable way to handle our accounts.  I am canceling my subscription asap.

If you call when the support lines first open and select the correct menu prompts (billing) then your phone call should take less than ten minutes.  With thousands of players unable to practice good account security this is a good step that MS has taken.

 

Also they are not the only company that requires a phone call to cancel a service.

I strongly disagree with the way Microsoft is treating its customers by forcing us to call MS in order to cancel a a subscription - a subscription which is forced upon the customer, should he/she decide to pay for xbox live with the use of a credit card (which is done online in the first place).

Not being the only company that requires a phone call to cancel a service is in no way an acceptable excuse.

I suspect that Microsoft gives us no other option of cancelling, hoping that customers will forget to cancel due to the unnecessarily time consuming and time limited (phone call opening times) option we are given, or that the customer might be swayed with discounts or similar offers during the phone call.

This has been my only, and very frustrating problem with the xbox live system since the launch of the service.

In this case, all PR is not good PR.

Give us the obvious option of cancelling any subcription online, I am not alone in wanting this, not by far.

It's five minutes on the phone and the opening hours are 9am - 1am. Since when was five minutes out of your day considered time consuming?

Even if it is a quick phone call that shouldn't have to be our only option. It is so frustrating to make a 6 minute phone call to do something that would only take seconds to do online. I just don't see how Xbox can be so ignorant and refuse such a simple option to their customers. This is the main reason why my next console will be a Sony.

There should just be a button on account information, it's just highly inconvenient even if the phone call is only short.

The fact that they removed the online option is what bothers me.  Its a very basic and very dirty tactic to boost the retention rate.
