Anyone have their XBox One in a loft?

I am unable to get the Kinect to run any of my devices like my cable box or TV, and I think it's because of my set-up. My TV/Xbox is in my loft in my house and the Kinect is facing the open part of the loft, so there is no back wall to bounce the IR off of.  Am I correct in my assumption that a back wall is needed for the IR blaster to work?

it shouldn't, if you watch some of the official tech demos they are set up very similar to what you are saying and have no problems.

I'm in a loft as well, and have mine setup to face towards the open area and it works fine. However, I do have curtains up to across the opening, but I don't think this should be a problem. The only problem for me is not enough space to workout unless I move my couch back.

Thanks for the info. I will have to do some more tests because right now the kinect IR blaster doesn't work on my TV, cable box, or receiver.

Use the or blaster port on the back if you can't get it to work
