You will need to call support and have them turn it off.

Unfortunately, with the exception of a couple of states, calling support is the only way to turn off auto renewal.

You can only turn off automatic renewal if you live in one of the three lucky states in the US, because of local laws.

Otherwise you will get that error message. In that case, you will need to phone Xbox Support to t
urn off automatic renewal.

So basically microsoft have just done this to make more money, instead of just being able to let people turn off automatic renewal online like before.

Idiots.

Alright so let me get this straight, it takes 2 minutes to call and talk to someone and simply give them your gamertag and confirm your name and address with them, that's all they ask. Tell them to turn off automatic renewal and walah done conversation only lasts a total of 5 minutes. It's honestly not that big of a deal, I just don't understand why everyone is getting so crazy about it and making it sound like it's so wrong. It's a company, so it's their right on how they let you turn off the automatic renewal, you call in, sometimes your confused about something and just want to cancel your account they get people to stay by explaining they can help with whatever problem they are facing. It's how businesses work.

Microsoft have always been a greedy company, and a 2 minute phone call? it can take up to 15 minutes just to turn it off. If microsoft just didin't turn on automatic renwal without your permission in the first place you wouldn't have to ring them up, with them offering specail offers.
