After Update 360 Extremely Slow and getting "Open Tray" with Disk inserted

I started up my 360 yesterday and it needed to do an update.  So I let it update fine but since then I noticed my tray is doing the "OPen tray" message even though Rb3 is sitting inside of it and when I power on the 360 it sees at the XBOX flash screen for like 5 -10 MINUTES.  I went to play that new Texas Holdem game and it took another 5 minutes to load.  Once it starts playing the 360 seems fine.  But then when you quit it is another 5 minutes to get to the dashboard.

So I am guessing there is something weird going on with my dashboard...has anyone else had this issue?  My Brother said it happened to him for like a day or two and then stopped.

thanks,
Rich

I have done the open tray stuff before.  I'm more worried about the extreme slowness part right now

Especially since the tray doesn't open everytime because the dashboard is taking so long to do anything.  I think it is timing out rather than it being the drive itself.

I tested with my buddies Hard drive and it does the same thing.  If I boot it without a HDD it loads quick and fine.  The "Open Tray" error is still there.  Is there a way to wipe out whatever update was applied recently?

thanks

Hi! Does the Open Tray message appear for any disc, or only certain ones?

I have the same type of issue. Extreme slowness beginning with an update. When I take the HDD out everything is fine.

This has been happening every day for me, till today it 's decided to not read any of my discs at all. Before I was playing Halo: Reach and that game has no scratches whatsoever yet after matches it would say "Disc not readable", extremely frustrating. Then this morning I tried play GoW2 and it wouldn't read the disc at all. And I've done all the "Open Tray error and things to try." forum so that can't be the case. Any word on a touch up on the update? Just to see if it's really the update or not =/

I'm having a similar issue, though no "Open Tray" problem.  My dashboard is VERY slow to load.  Also, when attempting to check Memory (on the System Settings) or install a game to the hard drive, it's taking an incredibly long time to load.  I guess I'll call MS about it.  I'm trying to clear the cache currently and can't even get my HDD to show up.  Since I've got the new XBOX, I can't just pop out the HDD and see if that's the problem.  Anyone else having this issue?  Any fixes?
