After the update my "Xbox On" command won't work?

Yes I know I have to 'manualy' turn it on the 1st time, after the update had downloaded and all that stuff. But now it's all up n running again, and all other voice commands appear to be working. I've checked in Settings > Power & Startup..... And I'm set to 'Power mode'. 'instant-on'. As before. Also the box is still Ticked for 'Wake up Xbox by saying "Xbox on". So why is it, after saying "Xbox ON" in so many ways, even my cat thinks I've gone crazy. Nothing happens? From normal volume speaking (that worked fine before) to being up close n personal with kinect almost kissing it... Nothing I've even ran the Kinect recalibrate thing.. Still nothing. Any ideas guys?

A. If you are using the Xbox One “Instant On” (the low power state that allows you to instantly power up your console by saying “Xbox On”), your console automatically checks for updates when you turn it off. Once we make the update available (on Tuesday, December 10th, 5:00 PM PT) this means the following will happen:

.

Your console will automatically download the update after you turn it off. Once the update has been downloaded in the background, your console will power completely down. Please note: You will need to manually power your console back on after the update has been downloaded. Because the update will power your console completely down, the “Xbox On” voice command won’t be available until after the update is fully installed.

.

When you turn the console on you’ll see the update being applied. After that, your Xbox One will reboot. You’ll know the update is installing when you see the Xbox logo on the green background (like at the top of this post.) This can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Once the update has finished installing, you’ll boot to the Home screen and you’re all set.

Don’t worry, if you are out of town for the holidays, you console also does regular checks for updates and will download it in the background even if you have not used you Xbox One in a couple of days.

hmmm not sure just tried mine and works as normal. :(

Dunno why but i have a feeling you are trolling?

Let me add some more info..  "Xbox on" worked this morning 8:00am uk time.  The unit has been on all day in TV (full screen)

Then this afternoon I begin reading about the update and how it begins downloading in the 'standby' state.

So I say "Xbox off, yes" and put the console into its sleep mode.

After about 30mins I notice the PSU light is orange (had to go look, it's behind the cabinet)

I manually turn on the console by pressing the X on the front.

Black screen for a few minuets, then the green screen for a few minuets, then the home screen.

I check the system software ver and it's the same as the latest update ver.

So the update is installed.

Did it happen this morning or just now?

Ether way,  "Xbox on" is not working now.

xbox on has never worked for me.every other command works perfect but no matter how I try I can not get xbox on to work

Mine works fine most of the time, but I have figured out that every now and then you have to unplug it for a minute or so and then plug it back in.  Then everything works fine.  I would give that a shot.  As medieval as it sounds, I bet it helps.

Would that be the same effect as holding the X on the front of the console for 5 seconds?

Mines never got a update I had ines off all day came home from work today and still nothing

I can say my "Xbox On" hasn't worked for a few days and still no luck this morning. I am letting it do its update now and I will then give it another try.

Let me add my voice to those for whom "Xbox On" does not work, either before or after the up date except for a weird two times that I tried it just after doing the "Xbox Turn Off" bit.  Even that does not work now. All other voice commands continue to work fine.
