Adding Gold Membership to Account

Hi,

I've been inactive on Xbox LIVE for a few months now, and with the recent release of Gears of War 3, I'm trying to upgrade myself back to gold status. However, I keep getting this error message:

It appears you've found a glitch in the system.

After calling support, I was able to get my membership working. However, even though my account is clearly listed as being a gold member, I can't use any of the features (party system, join games, etc.). This is crazy. :/

Have you shut off your Xbox, turned it back on then sign into your profile? Sometimes it may take a few hours for changes to be made to your account.

im having the same issue i let my gold membership expire now im trying to get it back up and running and just keep getting the code with the glitch anybody know what is causing this problem

I havent let anything expire just wanted to sign up and pay for gold membership now but it wont let me its been like this for 2 days now
